NOW SEEKING ARTISTS!
WHAT
Volleyballs will stand 4ft. in diameter with a 1ft. base, which will be held by concrete under the ground. They are made out of fiberglass by Iconpoly, a well-known company in the mid-west with a niche for public art projects. Thanks to our paint sponsor and art experts, Chartpak, volleyballs will be sanded prior to paint application and will be donating acrylic paints which will look beautiful on the fiberglass! Our newest sponsor, Mengel's Auto Body, will be applying a high-quality clear coat to to ensure logevity and durability through our tough New England weather.
WHO
Any artist in the area who is interested in submitting an idea and their portfolio is welcomed to apply!

GUIDELINES FOR ARTISTS:
1. We ask that you email your 3 strongest pieces of painted work and a link to your online portfolio to haveaballinholyoke@gmail.com
2. Rep Holyoke and volleyball! Try to keep your design for the volleyball related to the history, culture and progression of Holyoke and/or volleyball. All submissions welcomed!!
3. Test it out! Send us a mock-up of your design, to the best you can, so that we can properly provide you with paint (mock-up available to download here or on our Facebook page)

4. Please use the paints we provide during the project. The acrylic paint being donated by Chartpak as well as the high-quality clear coat have been tested and approved by all parties to ensure the longevity of the paints/materials.

HOW MUCH
Artist cost: $0
Artist stipend: $300
WHERE
(7) of the volleyballs will be located at every entry point within the city. In addition, there will be (13) volleyballs available for purchase to be located at various business.
​
Artists will be able to paint on the volleyballs in an enclosed, well-ventilated area, at their leisure.
